No. 4 Oklahoma State defeated the No. 13 Liberty Flames 69-60 in Friday’s first-round showdown of the 2021 NCAA men’s tournament at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis. Avery Anderson III led the way in the Midwest Region for the victors, who won their first NCAA tournament game since the 2008-09 season. UMBC stuns no.1 Virginia 74-54 in historic win

It was going to happen at some point and tonight it did- a 16 seed beat a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The University of Maryland-Baltimore County defeated the overall no.1 seeded Virginia 74-54 in the opening round of the NCAA tournament tonight. Well I can admit it, I was wrong. If you read my earlier piece from today, you know I predicted that North Carolina would win tonight’s national championship game against Villanova. I said the Tar Heels’ size and their defense would be more than the Wildcats would be able to handle. How off I was! Day 2 of NCAA Tournament ends with a bang

The round of 64 wrapped up tonight and it did not disappoint. Upsets were the order of the day, the biggest of which was 15 seeded Middle Tennessee State upending 2nd seeded Michigan State, 90-81. Others included in the East, 14 seed Stephen F. Austin bouncing 3 seed West Virginia 70-56; in the South, 13 seed Hawaii ended California’s tournament,77-66.
