Miami University women’s hoops coach resigns due to inappropriate, salacious relationship with player

Miami ( OH) women’s basketball coach DeUnna Hendrix resigned last week after an investigation into alleged misconduct, according to a university spokesperson. In an interview with the Miami Student, Coach Hendrix said cited “competive reasons” , whatever that means, saying the following: “It’s pretty matter of fact, just looking at the state of the program, with some valuable pieces jumping in the portal and obviously, we’ve been building for four years. So going into a contract year, it was really important that all the pieces stay in place. And so…

Villanova defeats UNC 74-77 on buzzer beater to win Nat’l Title

Well I can admit it, I was wrong. If you read my earlier piece from today, you know I predicted that North Carolina would win tonight’s national championship game against Villanova. I said the Tar Heels’ size and their defense would be more than the Wildcats would be able to handle. How off I was! Carolina was on target from behind the three point line in the first half, shooting a scorching 78% from downtown. This hot shooting helped them take a five point lead 39-34 lead into intermission. In…

Anticlimactic Final Four culminates in UNC/Nova title clash

So here we are, just a few short hours away from the culmination of the college basketball season. The Final Four has come and went and ,considering some of the games we’d witnessed earlier in the tournament, the contests themselves were underwhelming. In the first game, Villanova served Oklahoma a record setting 45-point beatdown, 95-51. Naismith Player of the Year, Buddy Hield was dogged by the wildcat defense into a 9 point outing. The nightcap saw North Carolina defeat Syracuse, 83-66. The Orangemen tried their darnedest at times to make…

Cut the BS NCAA! They are play-games!

The 2016 play-in games and the first weekend of the NCAA tournament have come and gone and what a first weekend it was. Half court buzzer beaters, crazy comebacks and upsets made this one of the best opening salvos ever of the tourney. I enjoyed every second of it but I must admit I completely abhor  the play-in games with a passion. The formula for getting in the field of 64 ( I still call it that because if you are truly in the field, you don’t have to engage…

Oregon Bball brings in the new college season with exclusive kicks

The college basketball season has just kicked off and like their football counterpart, the Oregon basketball team is coming to play in exclusive gear. In their game earlier this week against Baylor, the Ducks took the court in team exclusive KD 8’s. The yellow upper serves as a backdrop for the pine tree graphics that adorn the floor of the basketball court. The same yellow is also used on the KD logo on the tongue. Kelly Green is the hue of the flywire, swoosh and tongue. Consider these another reason…
