BALTIMORE, Md. — De’Torrion Ware drilled 6 of 8 3-pointers and scored 24 points off the bench and Morgan State topped Division II Lincoln (Pa.) 102-94 on Tuesday night at Hill Field House.
Lagio Grantsaan had 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to for Morgan State (1-1). Malik Miller added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Troy Baxter had 14 points.
Ware scored buried a corner 3-pointer during a final 13-5 run, and Miller made all four of his free throws down to stretch as the Bears picked up their first win of the season.
The Bears were 14-for-31 in 3-pointers, with Ware leading the way with six.
North Carolina A&T State 70, Charleston Southern 63
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The North Carolina A&T State men’s basketball team picked up their second-straight win, besting Charleston Southern, 70-63, in a Tuesday night non-conference matchup.
N.C. A&T (2-2) had a 12-point lead, 57-45, at the under-eight media timeout of the second half, but the Buccaneers (0-3) executed a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to cut it to 57-54 with 4:53 remaining.
Both teams traded baskets down the stretch.
With under two minutes remaining and clinging to a three-point lead, 62-59, junior forward Tyrone Lyons was fouled on a 3-point attempt. He knocked down all three free throws to extend the advantage to six. Lyons was 4-for-5 from the line in the closing minutes and the Aggies outlasted the late Bucs run.
Fred Cleveland, Jr. led the Aggies with 15 points, while Lyons finished with 12 points.
