Devin Cannady taken off court on stretcher after lower leg injury

In the first quarter of their game against the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic guard Devin Cannady landed awkwardly and appeared to severely injure his lower leg. We will not show video or images of the injury, as we have class and respect for the young brother.

The Magic said that Cannady, an undrafted rookie from Princeton, suffered an open fracture of his right ankle and he will undergo surgery.

Cannady has had an off-and-on again relationship with the Magic this season; he was signed as a free agent on November 27 , but waived him on December 19 after making appearances in two preseason games. On April 6 he signed a ten-day contract but then was released April 13 before signing a two-way deal with the club on April 16.

The D-League Final MVP had seen time in seven games with Orlando , posting 4.9 points and 0.7 rebounds on .393/.375 shooting splits.

Devin Cannady, we here at sneakershoptalk, wish you a speedy and complete recovery and sincerely hope that this is a just a speed bump in your career.
