The estranged wife of Earl Thomas was charged with multiple crimes this week, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft. According to prosecutors, Nina Thomas bilked the former former footballer out of millions of dollars.
Court records, obtained by TMZ, allege that Nina enacted her scam on her Thomas in September 2021, which was after her 2020 divorce filing. The feds allege that Nina Thomas and an accomplice, whose name is redacted in the court documents fraudulently separated the former Seattle Seahawks star from $2.7 million of his money. The ill-gotten funds were blown on frivolous purchases such as a breast job and a Birkin bag.
An arrest warrant was issued for Nina Thomas on December 13 and she was taken into custody on December 16 and was released soon thereafter.
Earl and Nina were married in 2016, but the union has experienced its share of rocky moments, including Nina allegedly holding a gun to Earl’s head, after she purportedly discovered him engaged in infidelity.
