For her performances last week, in which she averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals , Tennessee State University guard Erica Haynes-Overton was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season.
Against Morehead State the Nashville-native put in 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 rebounds and against Little Rock she scored 22 points ( which was the third time Haynes-Overton broke the 20-point barrier on the season) 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
On the season, the Kansas transfer is averaging 13.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.62 assists on .439/.364/.790 splits.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Thurdsay when head to Edwardsville, Illinois to take on SIUE, with a 3:00 pm tip-off. Saturday TSU will be on the road again , Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when they will tangle with Lindenwood.
