The hero of the 2012 final in Istanbul, two-time EuroLeague winner, and an Olympiacos icon will get his last applause from the home crowd at a EuroLeague contest in Game 5 between Olympiacos and Monaco.
No matter what, this game will be the end of the road for the 2021-22 season either for the Greeks or their guests. However, the stakes are even higher on a personal level for the captain of the Reds.
The 37-years old Printezis has avoided so far a straight answer to the question of his possible retirement, still, it’s a common secret that he will say goodbye at the end of the season. Of course, that’s also an extra motivation for Olympiacos to return to the Final Four and fight once more for the trophy.
A member of the EuroLeague All-Decade team, Printezis has set the tone in Game 1 of the series, scoring 12 valuable points and proving that he wants more than anything to return to the Final Four for a final run to the title.
Vintage Printezis appeared in this game as Olympiacos dominated Monaco.
So no matter what, tomorrow night will be historic for Olympiacos with a sold-out crowd achieved on Sunday almost in one hour and the captain being in the spotlight.
