The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) uncovered its 2024 Division I Men’s & Women’s Scholar Athletes where Howard University saw five Bison acknowledged for their success off the court. The announcement came Monday afternoon.

“I am very proud of our young men and women,” said Howard Director of Tennis Nicholas Askew. “Our teams not only excel on the court, but in the classroom as well. A special thanks goes to our academic service support team for their endless help.”

Among the honorees included Daniel Dunac(Washington), Dana Hall (Miami), Gabe Knowles(Allentown, Pa.), Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and Pierce Westbrook (New Orleans).

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, each Bison maintained a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) during the 2023-24 academic year.

Collectively, more than 2,600 Division I student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Coach Askew and the Bison look to build on last year’s success as they continue their pursuit for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships.
