Former Chris Johnson, affectionately known as CJ2K, has announced that he has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 39.
Johnson shared the heartbreaking news during an appearance on Good Morning America, revealing that he is preparing for the fight ahead with the same determination that made him one of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers.
One of the fastest running backs in league history, Johnson rushed for over 9,600 yards during his career and became just the sixth player in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in a single season, accomplishing the feat in 2009.
Today, the football community stands behind him as he faces a challenge far greater than anything on the field.
Please join us in keeping Chris Johnson, his family, and all those impacted by ALS in your thoughts
