Fifteen years after its original 2009 debut, the “Gold Medal” Kobe IV is planned to make its return next fall in Protro form.
At this juncture there are no images available, but what is known is they will make use of a white, dark obsidian, varsity red and metallic gold color palette. The hopeful anticipation is that Nike doesn’t mess these up, meaning we should see a Kobe IV with metallic gold at the toe, forefoot, collar and external heel cup. The midfoot is occupied with a white side panels bolstered by Flywire cables and adorned with red-bordered dark obsidian Swooshes. A kobe logo should be seen on the toe, with a signature on the lateral heel and Kobe’s Olympic number “10” stamped on the rear heel.
Underneath resides a white midsole and an obsidian, red and translucent gold rubber outsole.
The “Gold Medal” Nike Kobe IV Protro is planned to release in the fall of 2024; they will carry a 190 USD sticker price.
