Nassau, Bahamas (November 20, 2023) –The Howard University women’s basketball team closed out the three-game Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament with an 85-62 loss to DePaul University. The Bison finished in eighth place.

Howard (1-6) got a team-high 17 points from graduate guard Iyanna Warren(Accokeek, Md.) but no other Bison player reached double figures.

DePaul (3-3) wasted little time jumping out to a 22-10 first quarter lead and a 21-8 advantage in the second quarter to take an insurmountable 43-18 lead at the half.

Howard was again plagued by the inability to score the basketball as they suffered through a 23-percent shooting effort to start the game. They did; however, improve in the third and fourth quarters, totaling 41 of their 62 points.

Junior guard Nyla Cooper (Fayetteville, N.C.) contributed eight points off the bench while junior forward Vanessa Blake (Summerville, S.C.) added six points in a losing effort.

The Blue Demons got balanced scoring as four players scored in double figures, led Anaya Peoples with a game-high 21 points, followed by Kate Clark (16 points) and Michelle Sider and Maeve McErlane with 11 points each.

NEXT UP: Howard returns home to host Manhattan College Sunday (November 26) at 2 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
