Ja Morant out 3-5 weeks with Grade 2 ankle sprain

From nba.com staff:

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will be sidelined for the next 3-5 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 left ankle sprain, the team announced on Tuesday.

Morant suffered the injury during Monday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets when he landed on the foot of Nets guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot in the second quarter.

The reigning Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, who returned to the bench wearing a walking boot in the fourth quarter of the Grizzlies’ overtime win, had averaged 36 points and eight assists during the first two games of the season.
