When the Memphis Grizzlies commence training camp on October 1, no.2 overall pick Ja Morant will be amongst the participants.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, the team announced their rook point guard has completely recovered from the arthroscopic knee surgery he had back in June.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Morant had the surgery to remove loose bodies in his right knee.
The drafting of Morant and the trading of Mike Conley to the Utah Jazz signaled that the Grizzlies had decided it was time to move on from the “grit and grind” error and usher in a youth movement that includes Morant, last year’s no.4 overall pick Jaren Jackson Jr and fellow rookie Brandon Clarke was the summer league MVP.
