The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Prairie View A&M’s Jawaun Daniels and Southern’s Terrell Williams Jr. for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
Player of the Week
Daniels helped lead the Prairie View A&M Panthers past Alabama A&M with a game high 30 points on Monday as PVAMU won the contest in spectacular fashion by a score of 72-48. He was also a key double digit point contributor for Prairie View A&M versus Alabama State tallying 10 points and six rebounds. For the week he averaged 20.0 points per game to go along with 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per outing.
Impact Player of the Week
Williams Jr. averaged 17.5 points per game over the past two contests during Southern’s wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State. He was 14-of-17 from the field over that two-game span while helping the Jaguars remain in first place in conference standings. Against UAPB Williams tallied a team high 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals. During the Jaguars game against MVSU he finished with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting while also contributing two rebounds and one assist.
