WASHINGTON, D.C. — 
Jayla Thornton hit seven 3-pointers andp oured in 23 points Saturday afternoon in Burr Gymnasium, as Howard kept up its winning ways with a 71-60 victory over Delaware State.

With the win, the Bison improved to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in MEAC play.

Iyanna Warren also had a standout game, dishing out a career-high 14 assists.

Kiana Coomber led the Hornets (2-8, 1-4 MEAC with 11 points.

Morgan State 69, Coppin State 51

BALTIMORE, Md. — 
Ja’Niah Henson dropped a team-high 19 points, and Dahnye Redd added 12 rebounds, as Morgan State kept pace with Howard in the Northern Division standings with a 69-51 win over rival Coppin State on Saturday.

The Lady Bears, winners of four straight, improved to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in MEAC play.

Aliyah Lawson led Coppin State (1-6, 1-4 MEAC) with a career-high 27 points.
