Jaume Ponsarnau has been chosen to become the next head coach of Casademont Zaragoza and the sides are working on finalizing the deal, per Chema de Lucas.
Ponsarnau has been with Valencia for the past five years, initially as an assistant and then as the head coach. He led the team to the 2019 EuroCup trophy and coached them to a positive record in EuroLeague this past season.
Valencia had a 12-16 record prior to the cancelation of the 2019-20 campaign while this year, the team missed the playoffs by a hair with a 19-15 record, as the ninth-placed.
He will take over Zaragoza which has seen a number of coaching changes throughout the season but still managed to finish third in the Basketball Champions League, although they missed the playoffs in Spain with a 14-22 record as 13th in the standings.
