The Indiana Fever extended their winning streak to five games with a hard-fought 101-95 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
Kelsey Mitchell once again led the Fever’s offense, scoring a game-high 29 points while tying a WNBA record for the most consecutive games with at least 20 points. Mitchell has now reached the 20-point mark in 20 straight contests, matching the record previously set by Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.
Mitchell’s night ended early after she exited following the third quarter. She returned to the locker room and did not re-enter the game, leaving Indiana to finish off the victory without its leading scorer.
Caitlin Clark continued her stellar play with 24 points and seven assists, orchestrating Indiana’s offense while knocking down key shots throughout the contest. Aliyah Boston provided another strong two-way performance, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
The Fever appeared to be in complete control after building a 17-point advantage, but the expansion Tempo mounted a determined comeback. Toronto trimmed the deficit to just four points late in the fourth quarter before Indiana answered with timely baskets and defensive stops to secure the win.
Despite the loss, there were bright spots for Toronto. Veteran guard Brittney Sykes made her return to the lineup for the first time since suffering a knee injury on June 16, contributing 15 points and five assists. Marina Mabrey paced the Tempo with 22 points.
The defeat marked Toronto’s 11th consecutive loss, while Indiana continued to strengthen its postseason positioning with another impressive road victory.
