Sunday the Toronto Raptors defeated the Phoenix Suns 127-109, handing the Suns their eighth loss in their last ten games. Kevin Durant was unusually quiet, scoring just 15 points and grabbing 4 rebounds, however, the defense of Scottie Barnes had a lot to do with Durant’s tough night at the office, as he harassed the normally efficient Durant into just 5-15 from the floor.
Durant put the loss squarely on his shoulders after the game, saying, “Tonight, if I had made more shots, we probably would have won. I got to force it and probably run up to the ball more. I have to rebound a bit more, four of them are not good enough. If we want us to win, I got to come better than what I did tonight,”
With a star-studded lineup that, in addition to Durant, includes Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Suns have fallen woefully short of expectations, sitting 11th in the Western Conference at 27-30. On the season Durant is averaging 26.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists on .532/.401/.824 shooting splits
