Way back in 1997 , a fresh-faced 18-year-old Kobe Bryant put on a show at the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, becoming the youngest ever to do so. On his feet were the Adidas Crazy 97 EQT ( then known as the EQT Elevation).
The model will turn 25 in 2022 and to commemorate the milestone, adidas will be giving the silhouette another retail run.
In keeping in line with the original version it will sport a purple leather upper accented with black. White stripes are found on the lateral side, with gold showing up on the Three Stripes logo at the top of tongue, as well as adidas and Feet You Wear logos on the lateral ankle and tongue, respectively.
A purple midsole and a black and white Feet You Wear outsole completes the aesthetic.
The “Dunk Contest” Adidas Crazy 97 EQT is anticipated to release during NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland at adidas.com and select retail establishments.
