Lebron James will apparently not spend nearly as much time deciding on where he will suit up next season as the sports media has speculating on the matter.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, who has caped for, I mean covered LeBron James for his whole career, the potentially landscape altering decision won’t be long in the making. Speaking on James’ free agency last week on The Lowe Post podcast, Windhorst had this to say:
“Everybody will be on holiday on July 4. It will be over by then.”
When it is over, one of these scenarios will have played themselves out:
- Lebron will simply pick up his $35.6 million player option and remain in Cleveland.
- He could decline the option and hit unrestricted free agency.
- He could agree to a sign-and-trade, thereby allowing him to go to a ball club of his choice that may not have the cap space to outright sign him without having to gut their roster.
