Leonard Fournette escapes fiery vehicle

Free agent running back Leonard Fournette had some heralding moments on a highway Tuesday, as Fournette’s SUV combusted as he was driving , but he escaped injury. . Fournette revealed the burnt-out husk of his Dodge SUV in an Instagram video, with the caption that read: “Man it was one of those days today, but I would like thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I’am still blessed,”


At this time the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.

Fournette is looking for a new football home after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March. Last season was a bit of a down year for Fournette, though he did lead the team in yards from scrimmage with 1, 1191. He rushed for 668 yards and three touchdowns on 189 carries, while also catching a career-high 73 passes for 523 yards and another three scores.

In his six seasons Fournette has run for 4,478 yards and racked up 2,219 receiving yards with 41 total touchdowns (34 rushing, 7 receiving).
