Morgan State women’s Cross Country wins DSU Farm Run Invitational

SMYRA, Del. (Oct. 9, 2022)–The Morgan State Lady Bears’ cross country team captured the DSU Farm Run Invitational on Friday, hosted by Delaware State University at the Delaware Outreach & Research Center.

Morgan State won the team title with a total of 28 points to hold off the host Hornets, who finished with 33 points. Coppin State placed third with 64 points.

Delaware State’s Ashley Lagat won the individual title in a time of 20:11.6.

Rachel Field once again led Morgan State, crossing the line in a time of 20:24.8 to place second. Asydiah Pray-Brown came in third, completing the 5k race in a time of 20:57.6. Jalissa Emmens (21:02.3 and Jessica Lamborn (22:57.3) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Yasmine George(23:57.7) placed 11th.

Morgan State will close out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 15 when it travels to Gettysburg, Pa. to compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College.
