orfolk State freshman Gabrielle Gilbert has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
The award marks Gilbert’s sixth MEAC recognition this regular season, and fifth Rookie of the Week honor.
The accolade comes after a strong performance against Howard on Friday, pacing the Spartans in kills (10), digs (9), and service aces (4). She added two blocks as well.
