MILES 34, LANE 31
GAME STATSJACKSON, TENN. — Miles used a touchdown and a field goal in the fourth quarter to hold off Lane 34-31 on Saturday afternoon on Lane Field at Rothrock Stadium.
Kingston Davis and Donte Edwards led MC (3-4, 2-2 SIAC) combining for 334 of the 449 yards of total offense. Davis scored a pair of touchdowns, including one in the final frame, to highlight 170 rushing yards on 22 attempts (7.7 avg.). Edwards added 164 yards on 26 attempts (6.3 avg.) and a touchdown.
In the final minutes, Davis rushed for 4, 11 and 19 yards respectively to earn a pair of first downs before Edwards rushed for 11 yards for a first down – then 5 and 3 yards consecutively – to help the Golden Bears drain the clock and preserve the win.
Octavious Griffin completed 7-of-12 pass attempts for one touchdown and Christopher Brown added two receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Graderius Brown finished with a team high seven tackles and Roosevelt Thompson and Kynton Warner had a sack. Jackson Spradlin conencted a pair of field goals including a 50-yarder in the second quarter and a 33-yard score in the fourth that proved to be the deciding scoore of the game.
Michael Huntley led LC (4-3, 1-2 SIAC) and completed 15-of-25 pass attempts for 248 yards and two touchdowns, including a 60-yard score to Anthony Evelyn, to give the Dragons a 15-7 lead in the second quarter. LC gave up up 24 points and trailed 31-15 early in the fourth quarter.
Evelyn hauled in six receptions for 176 yards for two touchdowns. Huntley added a touchdown on the ground and Ike Brown recorded a rushing touchdown.
Jeffrey Johnson led all players with 11 tackles and Andrew Farmer added 10 stops to lead LC on defense.
TUSKEGEE 29, CENTRAL STATE 0
GAME STATS
WILBERFORCE, OHIO — Tuskegee forced three turnovers and registered five sacks to shutout Central State the Marauders 29-0 on Saturday at McPherson Stadium.
TU (3-4, 2-1 SIAC) forced three turnovers and posted five sacks.
Ivonte Patterson rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts (4.5 avg.)
Louis Williams completed 6-of-18 pass attempts for 73 yards with a touchdown a nd interception. He also rushed for 70 yards on 10 carries (7.0 avg.).
Arnes Huskic connected all field-goal attempts to help the Golden Tigers pad the scoring with field goals from 36, 32, and 22 yards out.
Carl Matthews and Woody Appolon led TU’s defense with eight tackles apiece. Freddrick Austin had a game high two sacks and Fletcher Jordan registered an interception.
Jacoby Smith passed for 80 yards completing 10-of-19 while throwing an interception for CSU (1-6, 0-4 SIAC).
Demonte Dunlap finished with 53 yards on 13 attempts for a 4.1 average. Justin Olbrice led all receivers with 38 receiving yards from two receptions and Dalane Brown posted a game high six receptions for 24 yards.
Ezekiel Kennebrew and Justice Thompson each added a sack, Joseph White finished with an interception, and Jamal Holloway led all players with nine tackles for the Marauders.
