MILES 16, EDWARD WATERS 9
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Miles scored nine unanswered points to pull off 16-9 win over Edward Waters on Saturday in non-conference play at Glover Community Field & Stadium.

Donte Edwards ran for 113 yards on 24 carries (4.7 avg) and a touchdown and Claude Newell III connected with Jaih Andrews for a 26-yard touchdown that turned into the game-winning score for MC (5-4, 3-2 SIAC).

Newell finished 7-of-15 for 92 yards connecting with seven different receivers.  

Defensively, the Golden Bears had four sacks and forced two turnovers. 

N’Ktavious Floyd led all players with a game high nine tackles (8 solo), two tackle-for-loss and a sack.

Jalen McWhite and Marquel Shelton each posted a sack and Rodney Coleman added an interception.

EWU (3-6) led 9-7 midway through the third quarter after Angel Seveir connected a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter and Elisha Ammi threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to David Johnson with 4:13 remaining in the first half.

Johsnon completed 13-of-20 pass attempts for 131 yards and an interception. Ammi led all recievers with four receptions for 72 yards.

Jaren Wilson led the Tigers on defense with nine tackles (8 solo), three tackles-for-loss and one sack. 


LANE 16, CENTRAL STATE 14
WILBERFORCE, Ohio – After trailing 14-0 at the break, Lane scored 16 unanswered points to come from behind and defeat Central State on Saturday afternoon in SIAC action at McPherson Stadium.

Ike Brown and Michael Huntley orchestrated the comeback for LC (6-3, 3-2 SIAC).

With 2:19 remaining in the game, Brown powered in from two yards out to win the game. Brown rushed 31 times for 97 yards (3.1).

Huntley connected 5-of-14 pass attempts for 34 yards and ran in for a 5-yard score early in the fourth to spark the Drangons comeback.

LC’s defense held CSU (1-8, 0-5 SIAC) to 10 first downs and racked up five sacks and two interceptions with Macken Howard leading the unit. Howard finished with eight tackles and 1.5 sacks. 

Andrew Farmer, Bray McKinzie, and Taquon Brown each registered a sack with Flake Tuckers and Nijul Canada each tallied an interception. 

The Marauders jumped out to a 14-0 lead on scores from Demonte’ Dunlap and Dalane Brown II. 

Dunlap scored on a 27-yard run with 8:53 on the clock in the first quarter while Brown II hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jacoby Smith with 34 seconds left in the half to give CSU a two-score edge at intermission.

Dunlap finished with 56 yards and a score on the ground to go along with four receptions for 29 receiving yards. 

Smith finished 14-of-24 for 166 yards with two interceptions. 

The CSU defense forced five turnovers on downs and recorded four sacks. Joe White led the defense with 16 tackles and Justice Thompson finished with 14 tackles. Jamal Holloway tacked on 12 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
