Kostas Antetokounmpo joins ASVEL

LDLC ASVEL announced that the club has agreed to a two-year deal with the 2020 NBA champion (with the LA Lakers) Kostas Antetokounmpo.

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne added size and athleticism to its frontcourt by signing Kostas Antetokounmpo to a two-year deal, the club announced on Friday. Antetokounmpo (2.08 meters, 23 years old) arrives from LA Lakers of the NBA, where he played limited minutes in 15 appearances this past season.
A younger brother of the NBA superstar Giannis, he also started playing basketball with youth teams of Filathlitikos in his hometown of Athens. After spending two years in college at Dayton University, Kostas Antetokounmpo started his pro career in the 2018-19 season splitting time between Texas in the G-League and Dallas in the NBA.
He joined the Lakers the following season, and was a part of the team that won the NBA championships in 2020, while also playing with South Bay of the G-League. Antetokounmpo is also a member of the Greek national team, and is now set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut.
