PRAIRIE VIEW – A game that looked a little out of hand going into half time, saw a decisive defense rally Prairie View A&M to an improbable 58-48 Homecoming victory Saturday afternoon.

“I feel really good about the results,” head football coach Bubba McDowell.  “This was a scary win, but it was a win.  It was an ugly win, but a win.  We went into the locker room and said coach we got you in the second half and came out and played football.  That’s what they did!”

Although the offensive unit sputtered through most of the game, they found their groove in time to assist with the come-from-behind win and Push the Panthers (5-3, 4-1 SWAC) into the driver’s seat for a first-place spot in the West Division of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The Panthers will return to action when they host Alcorn State for Senior Night on Friday, Nov. 4 for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Panthers defense was topped by graduate student Jamias Presley with 10 stops, while Keyshawn Johnsonmade nine tackles including a quarterback sack, for a three-yard tackle for loss.  Presley not only topped the team in stops he added a sack for six-yards tackle for loss, one force fumble an INT and one break up.  Bryce Turner had eight tackles, and one fumble return for 21 yards for a touch.
