The strange odyssey for Patrick McCaw has taken a new turn. The former Golden State Warriors guard left a guaranteed 2 year, $5.2 million deal on the table to sign a non-guaranteed 2 year, 6 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 28. He was cut a mere three games into his tenure with Cleveland.
The sign-and-cut has raised a few eyebrows and will now be the subject of an NBA investigation.
It appears McCaw will have a new NBA home. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the free agent guard will be signing a deal with the Toronto Raptors.
The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania reports the deal was for the veterans’ minimum of $786,000.
