From the SIAC
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week.
For women, Tyashia Bostick (Spring Hill) was named Player of the Week, while Brittney Bolin (Tuskegee) earned Newcomer of the Week.
For men, Beril Kabamba (Spring Hill) was named Player of the Week, while Brandon Miller (Miles College) earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Women’s Basketball
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyashia Bostick, Spring Hill |Guard/Forward | RS Sophomore | Charleston, SC
Bostick scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and against Lemoyne Owen. On the season Bostick is averaging 17.8 points and 5.6 reboounds per contest.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK– Brittney Bolin, Tuskegee |Point Guard | Freshman | Trophy Club, TX
Freshman point guard Brittney Bolin went 5-9 from the 3-point line against Miles College. She finished the game with a season high 19 points, as well as five assists, and three rebounds.

Men’s Basketball
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Beril Kabamba, Spring Hill Forward | RS Freshman | Clearwater, FL
Kabamba had an impressive game vs. Lemoyne-Owen. He recorded a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds. Kabamba led all players in the game, in scoring and rebounds.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK– Brandon Miller, Miles College| Guard | Graduate Student | Harvest, AL
Brandon Miller played a significant role in Miles College’s two victories last week. In two games, Miller averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds. In the win over Tuskegee, Miller recorded a game high 19 points, as well as four assists.
