ATLANTA, Ga. (October 12, 2022) – Megan Thompson (Benedict) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Female Runner of the Week, while Donald Kibet (Benedict) earned Male Runner of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
Female Runner of the Week – Megan Thompson, Benedict
Megan Thompson helped Benedict to a team second place at the Akiah McMillan Invitational cross country meet. Thompson led the team with a personal best time of 22:17.4 in the 6K race to finish second overall, 35 seconds behind the winner.
Male Runner of the Week – Donald Kibet, Benedict
Donald Kibet won the Akiah McMillan Invitational cross country meet hosted by Columbia College on Saturday, dominating the field. Kibet ran the 8K course with a personal-best time of 24:25.8 and beating the second-place finisher by more than one minute.
