Marcus Smart cleared of COVID-19

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has been given a clean bill of health. Smart revealed the diagnosis in a tweet on Sunday. Back on March 19, Smart revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. This bit of good news comes on the heels of the Utah Jazz announcing Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and personnel were coronavirus-free.

Celtics rearrange schedule to attend Kobe Bryant memorial

From Sean T. McGuire of NESN The Boston Celtics will have the opportunity to attend the memorial for former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant at the Staples Center on Feb. 24. The Celtics pushed back their departing flight from Los Angeles so players and staff will be able to attend the memorial, according to The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach. Jayson Tatum out tonight versus Pistons

According to A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum will not be in action for their game Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons with tendinitis in his right knee. Blakely adds that Tatum is going to travel with the team with the intention of playing against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. In 38 games this season Tatum is averaging 21.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

According to NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsborg, Celtics guard Kemba Walker will miss the team’s game Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks with the flu. This will be the second missed game of the season for Walker. Kemba is averaging 22.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward will miss the team’s Friday night game against the Detroit Pistons. Hayward had been scratched from the Celtics’ game versus the Mavericks on Wednesday. Head coach Brad Stevens said Hayward has been dealing with pain in his left foot for a few weeks.
