Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward is having surgery on his injured left hand today, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Hayward injured his hand Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs. He had been playing well prior to his injury and was resembling the All-Star player that signed with the Celtics two years ago; through the first eight games he had averaged 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists on a scorching 55.5% from the floor, including 43.3% from downtown.

Boston converts Tacko Fall’s deal to two-way contract
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Boston Celtics will convert center Tacko Fall’s deal to a two-way contract. The 7-5 big man went undrafted out of UCF but signed an Exhibit 10 deal, a deal that would pay him an additional $50,000 if Fall begins the season with Boston’s D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. The deal also gave Boston the option, which they are exercising, to offer Fall a two-way contract, allowing Fall to bounce back and forth between the Celtics and the Red Claws.

Center Al Horford has signed a four year, $109 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes $97 million of Guaranteed money with the other 12 million being tied to championship winning bonuses.

According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Boston Celtics “refused” to make Jayson Tatum in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans. Earlier today it was initially reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Anthony Davis was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, three first round picks, including the number 4 pick in this year’s NBA draft.

Boston Celtics general manger and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge suffered a heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday. The Boston Celtics and coach Brad Stevens announced earlier today that forward Jaylen Brown ( lower back spasms) would likely be out for the team’s game Wednesday night against the Miami Heat.
