Kawhi Leonard withdraws from Team USA, Derrick White to be replacement 

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has withdrawn from the US Olympic team,  USA Basketball announced Wednesday morning, per The Athletic’’s Shams Charania.  Leonard has been dealing with chronic soreness and inflammation for the past few months. Boston Celtics forward Derrick White has been selected to replace Leonard. White, 30, is a  versatile defender who is a more than capable three-point shooter.  White will accompany the team when they travel to Abu Dhabi, where they will practice and play this week.  The team is set to take on Canada in the USA…

Spurs’ starting point guard Derrick White tears plantar fascia

The injury bug is kicking the San Antonio Spurs, at least the point guards, right in the tushy. Sunday, starting lead guard Dejounte Murray was lost for the season with a torn ACL and now recently named starting point guard Derrick White has also went down with an injury.
