The Albany State tennis team took care of business , 7-0, Saturday against the Wildcats of Fort Valley State. In singles competition Doylisha Copeland, Allyah Williams, Asia Raulerson, Sumana Panauganti, Carla Sorroche all claimed victory in their respective matches. In doubles play, Copeland and Williams won their match 6-0, while Bianca Leao and Sumana Panauganti were almost as dominant, winning their match 6-1. Johnson C. Smith named to ITA All-Academic team with six players claiming All-Academic Scholar-Athletes honors

Smith University women’s tennis team was named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team and six Golden Bulls earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the ITA announced Thursday. This year the Intercollegiate Tennis Association saw an increase in qualifying teams and scholar-athletes. All-Academic honors were awarded to 940 teams and thousands of scholar-athletes. JCSU women’s team who earned All-Academic honors individual academic accolades are Alisa Stevenson, Aleena Oakley, Aria Springfield, Cierra Turner, Jada Strickland and Halle Parker.
