Philadelphia 76ers forward Wilson Chandler will miss 2-3 weeks with a strain of the right quadriceps muscle. His anticipated return will be after the All-Star break. Keith Pompey reports the injury occurred during the third quarter of their game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday and that he underwent a MRI Friday. After days of speculation of when he would play again, Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward Lebron will finally return to the team’s lineup tonight against the L.A. Clippers. James has missed the team’s 18 previous games after injuring his groin on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. The team has went just 7-11 in that time, but have also endured injuries to key players Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma as well during that time.

According to The Oregonian and Oregon Live’s Joe Freeman, Portland Trailblazers star guard Damian Lillard will not play in the team’s game tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. Coach Terry Stotts says it is due to soreness in Lillard’s right knee and that his injury is not serious and the hope is that he will only miss once game.

Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond will play and get the start tonight tonight in the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. He was placed in concussion protocol shortly thereafter, which he cleared on Thursday. Drummond is pulling in a league-leading 14.9 rebounds per game to go along with 16.3 points. Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Jimmy Butler will miss the team’s game against the Houston Rockets tonight, according to Kyle Neubeck. Neubreck also added that Butler informed the team he was experiencing discomfort in his wrist and that the team is calling it a “mild wrist sprain.” Since being traded to the Sixers earlier this season, Butler has averaged 19.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 32.1 minutes per contest.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Friday that point guard Rajon Rondo has been cleared for full contact practice by the club’s medical staff.  According to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportNet, the veteran point guard is likely to return to game action next week.  Rondo has out since suffering a sprained finger on December 27. When LeBron James had to leave the team’s Christmas Day beatdown of the world champion Golden State Warriors, the Lakers fan base has held its collective breath.
