Making A Difference: Lebron James gives over 800 pairs of sneakers to “I Promise” students

The students at Akron’s I Promise School were recently in for a treat- 800 pairs of sneaker’s from the town’s most famous product. Lebron James provided the school with 800 pairs of his Lebron 16 sneakers. The students had their choice of ten different colorways, which were given to the youngsters to inspire them to “keep pushing.” The I Promise School opened in 2018 and has done well since its birth.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr’s antics sometimes overshadow his prodigious talent. Tuesday, his penchant for getting attention were pointed in the right direction. Youngstown Ohio’s Chaney High School football team was dissolved in 2010 and as they prepare to return to the gridiron, they got a boost from the All-Pro wideout. A recently posted video shows a runner in New York’s financial district giving the shoes and socks off his feet to man seated on a sidewalk grate. Tuesday Kawhi Leonard announced that he has been working with both the Clippers and local non-profit Baby2Baby to donate 1million book bags to Southern California students.  “My goal this year is to make a meaningful contribution both on and off the court. This past Thursday, July 11, Patrick Mahomes’ brother Jackson and the Chiefs QB’s foundation, 15 and Mahomies donated adidas sneakers to underprivileged children of the Whitehouse ISD (Whitehouse, Texas) students. Livingstone student-athletes volunteered at local elementary school

by Blue Bears Sports Information Department  SALISBURY – Livingstone College Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) members and their teammates volunteered at Overton Elementary School for their annual Jump rope Club Lock-In.  Each year, LC student-athletes participate with the elementary students to play games, help out by serving dinner and promote goals of physical, social and character development of the students. CJ is a Planet Fitness member in Woonsocket , Rhode Isalnd who showed up at the gym to work out in boots ( which apparently is against their rules) instead of sneakers. Gym manager Daniel Cote decided to do something about it that did not involve just putting him out. He found out CJ’s shoe size from his caregiver and actually went to athletic store and came back with a brand new pair of Under Armour sneakers for CJ. Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard is donating a pair of signed shoes for the “Kicks to Beat Cancer” initiative, which is part ESPN’s V Week for Cancer Research. Lillard, along with a host of NBA and WNBA players have donated shoes that will be auctioned off to raise funds for the V Foundation.
