Damian Lillard reacts to Giannis being named MVP Finalist

The NBA released its finalists for its season awards on Sunday, including the crown jewel of individual league honors, the Most Valuable Player award. Giannis Antetokounmpo was among the three finalists for the award, along with Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Antetokounmpo’s teammate, Damian Lillard, shared an Instagram story to congratulate his running mate. Golden State defeats Houston 95-85

Denver Nuggets break off head coach Michael Malone

In a stunning move the Denver Nuggets have fired head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth, per reporting from Shams Charania of ESPN.  Malone was hired as Nugget’s head coach in 2015 and oversaw the team’s ascension, culminating in an NBA championship in 2023.  The Nuggets are 47-32, sitting fourth in a very competitive Western Conference. Courtesy of Fox Sports Detroit Pistons big Isaiah Stewart was suspended for two games and four other players from the Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves drew one-game suspensions for their roles in an on-court altercation between the teams earlier this week, the NBA said Tuesday. Stewart got two games “based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,” the league said.
