According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau, Klay Thompson has agreed on a 5 year, $190 million with the Golden State Warriors. Goran Dragic not involved in Butler deal

In the sign and trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat in exchange for Josh Richardson , it was previously reported that point guard Goran Dragic was going to Dallas, but apparently that will not be the case. The New York Times’ Marc Stein reported that forwards Derrick Jones and Kelly Olynyck were the heat players that ended getting sent to Dallas. Jimmy Butler joins heat in sign-and-trade

The Miami Heat have acquired Jimmy Butler via a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers , per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania reported that the Heat sent the 76ers Josh Richardson in the deal. Goran Dragic was sent to Dallas as part the deal as well. Charania also adds that Butler will also received the full four year max, which for his is $142 million over those years. Jonas Valanciunas expected to re-up with Memphis

According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, center Jonas Valanciunas is expected to agree to a three year, $45 million deal. Valanciunas opted out of a player option worth $17.6 million dollar, which would allow him to become a unrestricted free agent and negotiate a longer term deal with the Grizzlies. After being acquired from the Raptors in the Marc Gasol deal, Valanciunas posted averages of 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds, which is a noticeable increase from his career production of 11.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Rockets to meet with JaVale McGee

The Houston Rockets plan on meeting with free agent center JaVale McGee when free agency begins Sunday at 6 p.m according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. It may not garner the attention that some of the other free agent meetings and signings that will happen on Sunday but McGee is no slouch. Last year as a member of the LeBron James Experience, errr Los Angeles Lakers, he averaged 12 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Kyrie Irving to meet with Nets Sunday, deal likely imminent

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, free agent Kyrie Irving is meeting with the Brooklyn Nets Sunday and both sides are “motivated” to get a deal done quickly. Getting the Irving deal done will allows the Nets to turn their focus to how they are going to proceed with D’Angelo Russell. Wojnarowski adds the Nets are looking at potential sign-and-trade scenarios rather than outright renouncing him.
