Sixers will not sign Brewer for season’s remainder

It appears that the Philadelphia Sixers will not be retaining the services of veteran wing Corey Brewer for the rest of the season. The team had signed Brewer to a 10-day contract on January 15 and then to a second deal on January 25. Brewer had seemed to play well, adding a veteran toughness and another still capable defender to the team. Wilson Chandler out 2-3 weeks

Philadelphia 76ers forward Wilson Chandler will miss 2-3 weeks with a strain of the right quadriceps muscle. His anticipated return will be after the All-Star break. Keith Pompey reports the injury occurred during the third quarter of their game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday and that he underwent a MRI Friday. Pelicans and Lakers have spoken regarding Anthony Davis

Thursday, the Los Angeles Times’ Brad Turner reported the Lakers presented the Pelicans with five various trade scenarios. One of the proposed deal included Los Angeles sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and first round pick to the Pelicans for their all-world forward/center. Although the other scenarios were not disclosed, Turner adds the Lakers are seeking to get a deal done prior to the NBA’s February 7 trade deadline to avoid the AD sweepstakes opening up to other teams.

Damian Lillard out against Hawks
