Oklahoma City to promote Mark Daigneault to head coach

From nba.com: The Oklahoma City Thunder are promoting assistant Mark Daigneault to become the team’s next head coach, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Daigneault, 35, makes the rise after Oklahoma City and former head coach Billy Donovan mutually agreed to part ways in September.  After a two-month coaching search, the franchise ultimately decided to hire from within. Though it seemed highly unlikely six months or even six days ago, Russell Westbrook’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder could be winding down. After shocking the NBA world by trading Paul George Sunday morning, the Thunder apparently are done wheeling and dealing. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Oklahoma City Thunder are sending forward Jerami Grant to the the Denver Nuggets in exchange for a 2020 first round pick. The deal seems to address the issues of rebuilding for the future and financial relief as it will save the franchise $39 million in salary and luxury tax.
