PE Corner: Michael Jordan’s “Charlotte Hornets” Air Jordan 9 PE

The “Hornets” Air Jordan 9 was created as an exclusive colorway for the man himself, Michael Jordan in 2019 when NBA All-Star Weekend was held in Charlotte.  They sport a white leather upper overlaid with that of a supple-looking purple leather rand that also extends up the heel and collar. Hornets teal can be seen on the “AIR JORDAN” branding on the tongue, the global Jumpman logo on the rear heel, pull tab, and laces.  Purple also shows up at the inner, with white making additional appearances at the “23”…

PE Corner: James Wiseman’s Kobe VI Protro PE

These Kobe VI Protro were made for forme no. 2 overall pick and current Detriot Pistons center James Wiseman.  They sport a white snake-scaled upper adorned on the sides with Swooshes that transition from bright orange to red. A gradient Kobe logo is perched atop the tongue, while a pink external heel counter completes the coloration for the upper.  Underneath resides a white midsole and gradient rubber outsole.  As with nearly of all the subjects of PE Corner, there is no indication of a retail release.  Images via mambainauranceco

PE Corner: Take a look at Dana Evans’ Tatum 2

Nick DePaula and Tatumkicks give us a look at a Tatum 2 PE for Chicago Sky guard and Jordan Brand athlete Dana Evans.  They sport a vibrant red nubuck and textile upper with pink pods on the lateral medial sides. This Air Jordan 11 is made for the ballers at Michigan State University. In what turned out to be their valiant last stand against the defending champion Denver Nuggets, LeBron James wore “The Shop” PE of the LeBron XXI.  It sports a wheat suede upper with a large debossed Swoosh on the lateral side, with smaller more conventional gold-bordered black branding on the medial side. PE Corner: LeBron James in patent LeBron XXIs

LeBron James took this Player Exclusive edition of his LeBron XXI in a recent late season game. They sport a magenta patent leather upper; white embroidery on the underside of the lateral Swoosh allows the branding to come forward. In a late season game recent and long overdue NBA signee Isaiah Thomas took the court in this Phoenix Suns-based colorway. It sports various shades and tones of purple throughout its engineered mesh upper. On the Dodgers’ annual “Lakers Night” on September 1, 2023, Natalia Bryant, the eldest daughter of the late, great Kobe Bryant, threw out the first pitch , just as her father did at a game in 2000.
