Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum agrees to a three-year, $100 million extension with the ballclub. McCollum’s agent , Excel Sports’ Sam Goldfeder told ESPN that the deal extends his current deal to five years and $157 million. Pau Gasol agrees to one-year deal with Portland Trail Blazers

Free agent Pau Gasol has agreed to a one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Gasol began last season with the Spurs before being bought out. He signed with the Bucks but only appeared in three games before suffering a stress fracture in his left foot, ending his season. Gasol will bring experience and championship pedigree to an already solid big man lineup that includes Zach Collins, Hassan Whiteside, and (eventually) Jusef Nurkic.

Heat send Whiteside to Portland for Harkless and Leonard

The Miami Heat have sent center Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard. Whiteside, who averaged 12.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, can provide a defensive presence in the middle that can help to erase mistakes made on the perimeter. For Miami, Leonard can provide shooting from the center position, while Harkless’ length and athleticism on the perimeter can help defensively and he can also be a respectable three point shooter.

What a difference a year can make. After embarrassingly getting swept out of last year’s playoffs by the New Orleans Pelicans, there was some speculation that Stotts’ job could be in trouble. Damian Lillard and Trail Blazers “expected” to agreed to supermax deal

According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Damian Lillard is expected to sign a four-year $191 million supermax extension sometime this summer. He would qualified for the beefed up extension provided he makes one of the three All-NBA Teams, which, based on the level of play Lillard showed this season, seems to be a forgone conclusion. After hyperextending his left knee in the Trail Blazers’ game seven win over the Denver Nuggets, there was concern over if and when Hood would be available for the Western Conference Finals against the Warriors.
