Prairie View A&M names Bubba McDowell as new football coach

Prairie View’s protracted and at times seemingly much-stuck search for a head football coach looks to have finally come to an end. According to HBCU Premier Sports and News, Bubba McDowell will be the Panthers new head football coach. The name may be familiar to NFL fans , as McDowell played six NFL seasons, most notably with the Houston Oilers, where he was a known defensive contributor, compiling 486 tackles and 17 interceptions in his career. COVID-19 causes changes to SWAC Basketball games

From the Southwestern Athletic Conference: The men’s basketball game scheduled between Prairie View A&M and Grambling State slated to be played on Monday, January 3 has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols with the PVAMU program. The men’s basketball game scheduled between Alcorn State and Jackson State slated to be played on Monday, January 3 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, January 5. These actions follow the guidelines and protocols set forth by the league and its Sports Administrators Committee and COVID-19 Advisory Committee.

Jackson State defeats Prairie View 27-10 in SWAC Title Game
