SIAC unveils 2022 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament Bracket

From the SIAC: The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announces the brackets for its 2022 Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournament presented by TIAA. The 2022 SIAC Basketball Tournament will be held in the Rock Hill Sport & Event Center on February 28 – March 5 with 12 women’s teams and 13 men’s teams vying for the SIAC crown. For the women, Savannah State clinched the East Division title finishing with a conference record of 14-1. Albany State Basketball splits with Allen

It was an up-and-down day for Albany State basketball against Allen University as the Golden Rams split their matchup with the Yellow Jackets. The men’s team were victorious 74-64, while the ASU women came up short in overtime 66-59. Jordan Simpson lead the way for men, putting in 20 points and grabbing 11 boards. Albany State Basketball heads to SC for key SIAC games

The Albany State University Men’s and Women’s basketball teams both are hitting the road for pair games over the next several days. ASU is heading to Columbia, SC to take on the Tigers of Benedict on Thursday. They will follow that up with a game against Allen University on February 19. Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown , ASU Athletics The Albany State Golden Rams were swept by the Clark-Atlanta Panthers on Monday at the ASU East Campus.   In the women’s game, the Panthers won 62-61.  The Panthers jumped out to a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.  But, the Golden Rams outscored the Panthers 18-6 in the 2nd quarter.  At the half, the Golden Rams led 32-26. Courtesy of Benedict Athletics COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers drained 13 3-pointers, led by Brandon Smith’s season-high six 3-pointers, and the Tigers defeated Clark Atlanta University 96-78 on Monday night in the Benjamin E. The Albany State University Men’s basketball team ( 7-14, 5-7) suffered a tough loss to the Cougars of Columbus State University ( 14-6, 5-5) Monday evening. The Golden Rams were up 36-34 at the end of the first half and would continue to hold the advantage in the second half, pushing the lead to 17 points at 55-38 when Maxwell Harris sank a pair of free throws with 13:46 to go in the contest.
