Grambling football kicks off on ESPN+

Courtesy of Grambling State Athletic Communications: The Grambling State University football team will open the 2022 season with a televised game on ESPN+ at Arkansas State.  The Tigers and Red Wolves will kick off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 from Centennial Bank Stadium and will be streamed line on ESPN+. Jackson State out of Southern Heritage Classic

Since its inception in 1990, Jackson State has competed in the Southern Heritage Classic 28 times. However it appears that is coming to an end. Wednesday Jackson State announced its cessation of its participation in the Southern Heritage Classic, stating that their governing athletic conference, the Southwestern Athletic Conference has entered an agreement that is in conflict with that of the Southern Heritage Classic, which was not set to end until 2024.
