Tennessee State linebacker James Green was named the OVC-Big South Defensive Player of the Week. The Tennessee State Tigers were able claim victory in the 34th Southern Heritage Classic with a 24-14 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff and Green played a major role in the games’ outcome. With 0:54 left in the game, UAPB set up for a potential game-tying field attempt. The two teams met in Nashville on March 15, with UAB winning 2-1. Tiger pitcher Caitlyn Manus took the tough luck loss in relief when she gave up an unearned run in the fifth inning.
