Tennessee State linebacker Micah Gay has hopped into the transfer portal according to his representatives Michael Salvo and Tristan Kuhn of Nilson Sports.  The redshirt junior was second in the team with 61 tackles (34 solo, 27 assisted), while also adding 3.5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery.  The Atlanta, GA native has appeared in 28 games for Tennessee State, recording 78 total tackles ( 44 solo, 34 assisted) 4 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 2 passes defensed and 2 fumble recoveries. Tennessee State ends season with 7-6 loss at Charleston Southern

Turnovers and a lackluster offensive performance proved to be Tennessee State’s undoing as TSU fell at home to Gardner-Webb 30-14. Offensive issues continue to plague Tennessee State

This season Tennessee State is 2-7 overall and remains winless at 0-5 within the confines of the Big South-OVC.  While no team is perfect, those deficiencies become all the more glaring as a team’s record dips below .500. Tennessee State got off to a strong start, scoring on its first drive and taking a 10-7 lead in the latter portion of the first quarter.
