Tennessee State to face North Dakota State in home-and-home series

Courtesy of Tennessee State Athletics: NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State football program has announced a home and home series with one of the top programs in the Football Subdivision Series, as the Tigers will take on North Dakota State University in 2024 and 2025.  The Tigers will travel to Fargo, ND., to take on NDSU inside the historic Fargodome on September 7, 2024. Tennessee State offensive lineman Robert Lacey has accepted an invitation to participated in the 2023 HBCU Legacy Bowl. Lacey earned 2022 Preseason All-OVC honours and made the 2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist , as he helped open up holes for a TSU offense that featured two backs in Jalen Rouse and Devon Starling that each ran for over 500 yards and averaged at least 4.7 yards per carry. Tennessee State wide receiver JJ Holloman has accepted an invitation to take part in this year’s HBCU Legacy Bowl, according to a tweet from the game Friday afternoon. The Covington, Georgia native caught 33 passes for 353 yards and 1 touchdown in his lone season at Tennessee State. Prior to that , Holloman spent his first two collegiate seasons, 2017 and 2018, at the University of Georgia, being recruited as the #15 -ranked wide receiver in the nation. Tennessee State kicker/punter Kaleb Mosley was named Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week for his performance against Texas A&M Commerce. Saturday the senior kicker out of Montgomery, Alabama scored 10 points against the Tigers season-ending victory against the Lions. Mosley was perfect on his field goal attempts, connecting on kicks of 47, 36, and 25 yards and converted 1 out of 2 of his PATs, one was blocked. Tennessee State defensive back Darius Harper was named Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The senior had his fingerprints all over the Tigers’ 22-14 win over Texas A&M Commerce. What he accomplished in just the first half alone, would have been enough to garner Harper the weekly DPOY honours. Harper had an interception on the first play from scrimmage, which he returned 28 yards for a touchdown.
