NCAA rules cause Christion Abercrombie gofundme to be taken down

We brought the unfortunate story of Tennessee State University linebacker Christion Abercrombie who collapsed on the sideline in the first half of the Tigers’ game against Vanderbilt. He has been in the hospital since then and there has been an outpouring of support from not only the TSU family but HBCU’s across the land.   Although insurance policies provided by TSU and the NCAA will cover Abercrombie’s medical expenses, a gofundme was launched by Tennessee State to help provide funds for Abercrombie’s family. Tennessee State goes down to Austin Peay 21-17

Tennessee State dropped a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference game ,but the Homecoming Game, to Austin Peay 21-17. The Tigers would ultimately put themselves in a 14-3 hole, which they would dig themselves out, but eventually came up short. TSU got off to a bad start, fumbling on their first possession, giving APSU the football on the 20. Defense helped seal deal in Tennessee State’s 45-21 victory over Eastern Kentucky

The Tigers of Tennessee State University were able to procure their first conference win this Saturday with a 45-21 win over Eastern Kentucky. TSU’s defense came out strong, pitching a shut out in the first half and only giving up 119 yards of offense. Tennessee State would take a 17-0 lead into halftime, a Lane Clark 49-yard field goal, and two Michael Hughes TD passes (one of 11 yards to Patrick Smith and 8 yards to Steven Newbold) accounting for the Tigers’ scoring. Tennessee State falls at UT Martin, 31-16

Tennessee State fell behind 24-0 to #24 UT Martin and it ultimately proved to be a hole too great for the tigers to climb out of as TSU suffered their first loss of the season, 31-16. UT Martin’s first score came at 9:14 in the first quarter on a 3-yard run from Ladar Galloway, the PAT made it 7-0. Tennessee State stays perfect after Tampa Classic win

Although the Tennessee State and Florida A&M have met as recently as 2015, Saturday’s meeting in the inaugural Tampa Classic was a reprisal of their series in a Classic game that last happened in 2010 in the Atlanta Classic. A 6-play, 50-yard TSU first quarter drive proved fruitless, as it ended in fumble on the FAMU 33 yard line.
