Tuesday morning it was announced that Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson has earned a spot on the Women’s College All-Star Game Midseason Watchlist presented by Herbalife.  The watchlist is comprised of players who appear to be on the path to continue to play the game at the professional level. Tennessee State Women’s Hoops does not trail in 70-62 win over SEMO

The Tennessee State women’s basketball team turned in one of their strongest performances of the season, led wire-to-wire in a 70-62 win over Southeast Missouri.  As has been atypical of them for most of the season, the Lady Tigers got off to a good start, shooting 50% in the first quarter. Tennessee State women’s hoops fall to Tennessee Tech, 71-64

image via Tennessee State Athletics A rocky third quarter ended up being the Lady Tigers’ undoing as they fell 71-64 to Tennessee Tech.  After the game was tied early at 6 and 8 apiece, a 6-0 Tennessee State burst gave them a 14-8 lead with 2:59 left in the period. On the strength of their best shooting night of the season, the Tennessee State Lady Tigers defeated the Skyhawks of UT Martin 77-61 to end their 10-game losing streak but also notched their first OVC win of the season.  The first quarter was largely a back-and-forth affair that featured 9 lead changes and 5 ties.
